BEEF BURGER VARIATIONS

Hamburgers are a crowd pleaser for kids and adults alike. Just mix the meat with the seasonings and other suggested ingredients, shape into patties (usually slightly bigger than the bun as they shrink when cooking) and fry in a little oil or cook on the BBQ.

It doesn't have to be basic, it can be as gourmet as you like! Make the meat for the kids and then just add the fancy stuff for you!

TIP: A hamburger pattie is a great place to hide veggies from the kids!

Ingredients

1kg beef mince or you could try pork, turkey or chicken for something different.

VERSION ONE:
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
1 egg
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Pinch of grated nutmeg (optional)

VERSION TWO
2 cloves garlic crushed
1 large onion finely chopped or grated
1 cup parsley finely chopped
2 tablespoons lemon thyme or normal thyme chopped
Salt and pepper

VERSION THREE FOR THE KIDS (use any veggies in the fridge!)
1 carrot, grated
1 Zucchini, grated
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
Salt and pepper

Crispy Salami and Sundried Tomatoes
Cheddar Cheese, avocado and sprouts
Camembert Cheese, roasted pear slices and Rocket
Bacon, parmesan and anchovies
Spinach, cucumber and Blue Cheese
Pineapple slices and roasted beetroot
Crumbled Feta, fresh Tomato and mint

Bills Beetroot Marmalade
Caroline's Caramelised Onions
Basil or Coriander Pesto (from the deli)
Tomato or BBQ sauce
Hummus
Guacamole
Aioli
Mayonnaise
