The NoMu brand was born out of one woman's desire to spice up the world and here we are in Tassie enjoying one of South Africa's best exports. The spice mixes are rubbed into your favourite cuts of meat to create a deliciously different meal without all the fuss! Maggie Beer - Sugo you say   

Maggie Beer's Sugo range is one of our most popular products. Sugo is basically Italian for gravy - mostly tomato gravy or puree - and Maggie gets the mix just right to make your next pasta meal a sensation. We have two new sugo's on shelf - Tomato, Olive and Rocket and Tomato and Basil. You can just use the sugo on its own or add your own meats and veggies. But it doesn't just have to be the traditional pasta:  try spooning some sugo over polenta and eggplant for a Mediterranean inspired ragout, use it as a broth for baked mussels or even a sauce for poached salmon.

Andy Oliver loves all things Italian and he's created a little slice of  "The Boot"  in Tassie's Westbury. His award winning gelato is made using only the finest local ingredients on equipment he's imported from Italy. The Foodstore is now proudly stocking Andy's Lemon Cheesecake, Very Berry and Death by Chocolate Gelato. 

Brookfarm - Snack without regret  

The Brookfarm philosophy is simple: good quality ingredients, good green credentials and great taste. The Foodstore is now proudly stocking the Byron Bay based company's trail mix combinations which include ingredients like dark or white chocolate, muscatel grapes, macadamias, dried pineapple, cranberries, almonds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds to name just a few.

But most importantly Brookfarm has planted 30,000 rainforest trees to offset its carbon footprint and donates money from the sale of its products  to Rainforest Rescue in Far North Queensland. Snack without regret and help the environment? What a great idea!

Elgaar Farm - Handcrafted Organic Vintage Cheddar  

This is something special from the masters of organic dairy products at Elgaar Farm. The handcrafted 10kg wheels are turned weekly and rubbed with organic butter as they mature for two years in a unique basalt cellar. The wheels that we will be freshly slicing for you were actually made in November 2009 and the long maturation gives them that distinct cheddar bite and texture. This is truly something special for your next platter.

Sea Shanti's Sea Sheets and Flakes- A tasty tongue twister

Hard to say fast five times - but easy to use and delicious to boot! The seasoned seaweed flakes have a unique flavour with a blend of sesame oil and sea salt. Use them to add flavour to Asian style rice or noodle dishes or any meal really. The sheets are flat rectangles roasted on hot rocks in a timeless Korean tradition and can be eaten as is for a smoky alternative to the potato chip! Now that's a talking point at school lunch! 

Yalla - Delicious Dips, Salsas and Yoghurts

The Yalla label really says it all "freshly made with love and care" - and you can certainly tell! With a distinct Mediterranean influence the range includes a delightful green tahini, which makes a great potato salad (boil the potatoes, slice in a red onion and stir in the tahini). There is also a creamy smooth hummus that is perfect as a dip or with lamb. The salsas could be spread on a pizza base for something different and the yoghurt with breakfast mixes are a brilliant start to the morning. Traditional Macarons - A pretty sweet treat

We are very excited to be able to bring you handmade, Tasmanian Macarons by Ruby. These are as delicious as they are pretty. A stunning range of colours and flavours (boysenberry, rose and pistachio are our top picks) all 100 percent gluten free, made with free range eggs and lots of love. Perfect as a gift or a treat.  Not to be confused with the American Macaroon - this is the traditional French recipe by masterchef sisters.

Canterbury Naturals - Quick mix with a twist

This is a great new range of pre-mix cakes, desserts and  breads that has an amazing array of uses! Who would have thought you could use the Pumpkin Cake Mix to make a peach cake or even pear muffins?! The company says the mixes are a "healthy and economical foundation for easy-to-make, flavourful foods" and we agree. Now available in The Foodstore baking section.

Quinoa - Nature First Organic White, Red and Flakes 

Pronounced Keen-Wah, Quinoa is funny sounding but delicious tasting. Known as "the mother grain" in the times of the Ancient Incas, Quinoa is "rich in protein and high in fibre". It is a great substiute for rice, makes a delicious porridge for breakfast and can even be used in biscuits. A versatile and interesting addition to your cupboard.

Callington Mill - Stoneground goodness from Oatlands 

The Callington Mill at Oatlands is often described as a magnificent example of a Lincolnshire Mill and magnificent it is! A gorgeous old mill dating back to the 1830's which has been lovingly restored and is finally operational again, grinding locally sourced flour and grains. The Foodstore is lucky enough to be one of the mills new stockists so why not try some of the Callington MIll bran for your next breakfast or Callington Mill flour on baking day.

Arkadia Matcha Green Tea Latte - Green Goodness

This is the newest flavour in the Arkadia range now in stock at The Foodstore. Arkadia have used the finest grade of Matcha tea which is grown on specially shaded bushes.

Drink it with milk or hot water -  just a couple of spoonfuls creates a delicious creamy latte with all the goodness of green tea.

For something different, blend it with a banana, low fat milk and mint for a tasty breakfast smoothie.
